2007
Establishment of RotorSky Helicopter Service Gruber e. U.
Christian Gruber lays the foundation stone with the first base in Schärding (LOLS).
2011
RotorSky expansion with new base in Linz
The new base in Linz (LOWL) is commencing operations.
2014
RotorSky expands with a new base in Krems
The new base in Krems (LOAG) is commencing operations.
2016
RotorSky is making a name for itself in Austria
RotorSky is one of the largest pilot training companies in Austria.
2018
Expansion into Germany
RotorSky established another base in Emden (EDWE).
2019
Strategic partnership
RotorSky will become the exclusive training partner of Norwegian Competence Centre Helicopter (NCCH) in Stavanger, Norway.
2020
internationalization
RotorSky forms a partnership with Hillsboro Aviation Academy and establishes another training location in Portland, OREGON (KTTD).
Establishment of the GmbH (limited liability company).
2021
Expansion of pilot training
RotorSky is now training pilots in Austria and the USA. Pilots in the USA receive FAA and EASA licenses.
2022
Expansion of the LOWL site
The main site will be expanded and an H135 FTD 3 will be installed and qualified.
RotorSky is becoming a 'complex ATO'.
2023
Expansion of the ATO
RotorSky handles pilot training for international operators at its Stavanger (ENZV) location and is growing sustainably.
Leonhard Larcher started his aviation career.
2024
Expansion of the LOWL site
The main site will be expanded and an EC135 FTD 1 VR will be installed and qualified – this simulator is specifically designed for night vision flight with and without the use of night vision devices (NVG).
2025
Further expansion
RotorSky is further developing all five business areas and is preparing to reach the 10 MEUR mark in revenue from pilot training in 2026.
2026
Expansion of the LOWL site
The site will be further expanded and a new simulator will also begin operating here in mid-2026.
