Type Rating (TR)

RotorSky

The type rating is the certification for a specific aircraft model and forms the basis for operating that type. It is an intensive training program, consisting of theory and practice, which covers all relevant systems, procedures, and emergency scenarios.

Your steps to becoming a pilot:

Offers of types

RotorSky has TR certification for approximately 15 helicopter types. Here are the most frequently requested:

Single Engine
• R 22
• R 44
• Sikorsky S 300
• H120/EC120

Multi-Engine
• H135/EC135
• H145/BK117
• AW139
• AW169

Basics

All TR (Type Ratings) are conducted based on the RotorSky training manual approved by the aviation authority. This training manual complies with both the legal framework of EASA Part-FCL and the manufacturer's specifications according to the OSD.

theory

Theoretical training is primarily conducted through high-quality, computer-based training. At least 10% of the total training time is additionally spent in direct instruction with a flight instructor, which allows for a deeper understanding of the material and simultaneously prepares students for the theory exam.

Practice

Practical training is divided into two parts:

• Simulator training
• Helicopter training
Both are conducted by RotorSky, and the pilot is brought up to exam readiness. Finally, the so-called 'skill test' is administered by an officially approved examiner organized by RotorSky. Based on the training documentation, the new type rating is then issued by the relevant authority.

• Simulator training
• Helicopter training
• Helicopter training
• Both are conducted by RotorSky, and the pilot is brought up to the required skill level.
