NVIS/NVG

RotorSky

Night Vision Goggle (NVG) training for helicopter pilots is specialized training for the safe conduct of flights at night using night vision goggles. Particularly in air rescue, police, offshore transport, and military-related flight operations, the use of NVGs is an indispensable component of nighttime operational flights.

Your steps to becoming a pilot:

Goals

Our training provides the necessary knowledge to use night vision goggles efficiently and safely in the cockpit – under both VFR and IFR conditions. The aim is to comprehensively prepare pilots for the specific requirements and risks of NVG operation.

Basics

RotorSky offers a unique simulator specifically designed for this training. It combines the best of:

• Use of NVGs in a virtually generated and customizable nighttime environment

• Use of simulated NVGs in a VR (virtual reality) environment

The simulator is officially certified, and the training syllabus complies with the requirements of EASA PART-SPA.NVIS.130.

theory

The theoretical training comprises 11 hours and is divided into sequential lessons. The knowledge is imparted in groups during the first two days of training and forms the basis for the practical training. The training content complies with EASA PART-SPA.NVIS.130(f) GM2.

Practice

The practical training consists of 5 hours in the simulator, which includes the following phases:

• Familiarization with the NVG (wearing comfort, settings, functions, etc.)

• Use of the NVG in various situations (VTB – Virtual Terrain Board)

• Use of the NVG in flight (VTB)

• Fully immersive, realistic experience in the VR simulator
