The goal of the PPL(H) training at Rotorsky is to train you to become a safe and qualified private helicopter pilot . Upon successful completion, you will receive the recognized EASA PPL(H) license . This entitles you to fly helicopters privately during the day under visual flight rules (VFR).


Requirements / Prior knowledge
Requirements
To begin your training at Rotorsky, you must meet the following requirements:
Minimum age: Training from 16 years, licensing from 17 years.
Medical certificate: Valid Class 2, issued by a licensed aviation medical examiner (AME). We can assist you in finding one.
Language skills: Sufficient English is advantageous.
Prior knowledge
No prior flying experience required! A basic understanding of mathematics and physics is helpful.
Theoretical training
The theoretical PPL(H) training comprises a minimum of 100 hours of instruction according to EASA Part-FCL. Rotorsky offers flexibility through classroom instruction and/or distance learning courses. Core subjects include:
Air law
General Aircraft Knowledge
Flight performance and flight planning
Human performance
meteorology
navigation
Flight operational procedures
aerodynamics
Radiotelephony Certificate (AZF or BZF)
The theoretical training concludes with an official examination.
Radio training
At RotorSky, we know that obtaining your radio operator's certificate is a crucial step in your pilot career – regardless of whether you later want to fly a TMG, H135, or A320. Radio communication is always the starting point.
Our radio course is conducted via Teams and begins with guided study through our partner program from Radiocheck . Here you will acquire all the necessary basics to obtain a BFZ, EFZ or AFZ – even without prior knowledge.
Following the Radiocheck program, we integrate intensive training sessions into your apprenticeship. These practical units, combined with additional exam preparation , will lead you to your goal quickly and efficiently.


practical training
Practical flight training is the core of your PPL(H) license and, according to EASA Part-FCL, includes at least 45 flight hours . These comprise:
At least 35 hours of dual training (with a flight instructor).
At least 10 hours solo (solo flight), including 5 hours solo cross-country flight (185 km/100 NM) with two intermediate landings.
Upon successful completion, you will be ideally prepared for the practical exam.
