Goals
The R44 Type Rating is the perfect upgrade from the Robinson R22. As a charterer, you can strategically build up your private flight hours with cruising speeds of approximately 105 knots (around 200 km/h), a payload of 3 passengers, and state-of-the-art equipment. Experience the freedom and safety that mastering this versatile helicopter offers.
Requirements/Prior Knowledge
To obtain the R44 Type Rating, you need a valid PPL(H) or CPL(H) license and at least 5 hours of flight time on helicopters. Pilots with a Swiss S300 (H269) rating benefit from a simple renewal process, as many fundamental flight skills are transferable. Our team will be happy to advise you on how your prior experience can be best credited.
Theoretical training
Our theoretical training comprises at least 15 hours and provides you with an in-depth understanding of the R44 systems. The course typically lasts two days and covers the following areas:
○ Structure and power transmission (gearboxes), rotor systems
○ Normal and emergency operation of the systems
○ Operational limits, flight performance, flight planning and monitoring
• Loading, center of gravity and emergency procedures This comprehensive lesson optimally prepares you for the final test.
practical training
The practical training includes at least 5 flight hours and usually lasts two to three days. It includes:
○ Acclimatization flights and normal procedures
○ Intensive training in emergency procedures
○ Comprehensive instrument training
