The simulator is type-specific and certified as a Flight Training Device, simulating an Airbus EC135T3H. This type, better known as the H135, is a versatile and modern twin-engine helicopter primarily used in emergency medical services, air ambulance operations, police missions, and military applications.
Type
The Airbus Helicopters H135, known as the Eurocopter EC135 until 2014, is a light, twin-engine helicopter used for a variety of purposes. It is primarily used in air ambulance services, police operations, and similar roles. In Austria, the H135 is also used by the police and by the largest air ambulance organization, the Christophorus Air Ambulance Association (ÖAMTC).
In addition to the standard equipment with the latest Helionix® Avionics Suite, our simulator is also equipped with HTAWS, Synthetic Vision System, Weather Radar, EuroNav 7, TAS620A, GTN750, among other equipment.
Training
The type-specific certification allows us to use the simulator in a variety of ways for type-specific training. Our primary use of the simulator within our ATO is for type ratings, difference training, instrument ratings, and multi-crew coordination training. As an FTD 3 certified aircraft, it is also authorized for license proficiency checks.
